I hired Joe Parrish to take over my Hurricane Irma case about 2 years after Hurricane Irma destroyed my house. My entire house had to be gutted and my insurance company paid me peanuts and did nothing but insult us. I had another attorney before I hired Joe, who wouldn’t return my calls, never came to my house in person to see the damage, and who really did a whole lot of nothing for me and my family (other than wasting our time). I decided to fire the other attorney and take a chance on Joe. When I hired Joe and Casey, the difference was night and day. I had spoken with Joe more, in the first week after I fired my other attorney, than I had spoken with my other attorney in the span of 2 years. They care. They want to hear your story. Joe took over the case and told me he was essentially going to start from scratch. He hired new experts to inspect my house (who, by the way, were great people and very knowledgeable also) and took over my case with authority. I’m not an attorney and I don’t understand much when it comes to filing insurance claims, but whatever Joe did – he got the job done! In the Florida Keys there’s something that locals like to call “The Keys Disease” (it’s where people in the Keys act like they’re on vacation even if they’re not on vacation, and are generally lazy, less attentive, and less punctual with respect to business dealings – it’s a thing, look it up). Let me tell you, Joe and Casey don’t have Keys Disease. I live on one side of Big Pine and work in Key West. Joe’s office was in between my home and work, so I’d pass by his office every day around 5AM on my way to work. I’d see Joe’s truck parked at the office nearly every morning on my way to work, and then I’d see it there again nearly every day on my way home. I’d drive by there sometimes and see his truck parked at the office at nights and on weekends. It’s almost like he lived at the office. I could tell he loves what he does. I asked him about it one time and he told me something that has stuck with me to this day: “If I don’t put in the time, good people like you lose their homes and my conscience can’t handle that. It’s not that I’m passionate about being an attorney, it’s that I’m passionate about helping people. If my choices are between ‘take a day off to go fishing’ and ‘work late so that my clients don’t suffer’, I’m going to choose my clients every time.” He earned my trust, my respect, and my confidence with those words. The guy is relentless when it comes to his work ethic, and let me tell you the hard work paid off for me in the end. Down here in the Keys, sometimes it’s hard to know who you can trust and who you can’t when it comes to doing business. Joe and Casey are the “good guys”. They put their clients first and you will know, in your first time talking to them, that they care about you. Highly recommend. Best wishes to Joe and Casey with the new law firm, and congrats on the new addition to the family!
